Three minutes north of Texas Live!

Texas Live! is the dining and entertainment complex on E Randol Mill Rd between Globe Life Field and Choctaw Stadium. Mercury Chophouse – Arlington is about 0.8 mile north of it, on the ninth floor of the Brookhollow Two office tower at 2221 E Lamar Blvd, Suite 910. The drive is about three minutes: from Randol Mill, go north on Ballpark Way and Nolan Ryan Expressway to E Lamar Blvd, then east to the tower.

Park in the tower’s garage or its outdoor lot, at no charge, and take the elevator from the lobby to the top floor. From the door you are looking down at the district you just left. Highway 360 meets Lamar about a mile east of the tower, and I-30 is about a mile south, so guests coming from outside Arlington reach Mercury without passing through the complex at all.

A quieter table above the crowd

Texas Live! is built for volume: big screens, big rooms, a crowd that swells on every game day. Mercury is the opposite kind of room. White tablecloths and linen napkins, leather chairs and tufted booths, crystal chandeliers, a marble-topped bar, and a curved wall of floor-to-ceiling glass facing west and southwest. A grand piano stands by the windows near the bar, with live piano on select evenings; call 817-381-1157 to ask which nights.

The practical differences matter too. Reservations are taken on OpenTable and by phone. A 20% gratuity is added for parties of six or more, and groups of 12 or more receive a single check, so a big night out lands on one bill instead of a dozen. Dress is business casual: collared shirts and sports coats encouraged for men, jeans without rips welcome, no baseball caps, hoodies or athletic wear in the dining room.

How a night in the district can run

Because the two are so close, Mercury and Texas Live! work well as halves of one evening. Two common versions:

Cocktails with a view before you head back down

The bar is a destination on its own, with TVs above the back bar and the same windows as the dining room. The MCA Smoked Manhattan is $18, the Steakhouse Old-Fashioned is $19 with tallow-washed Knob Creek bourbon and rye, and the Margarita on the Rock is $20 with Wild Common blanco. Draft beer runs $7 to $8, including Manhattan Project’s Half Life hazy IPA from Dallas. The whiskey list has about 40 American bottles and a Japanese shelf that includes Hibiki Harmony at $32.

What to order on a district night

Start with the Gulf Shrimp & Jumbo Lump Crab Ceviche at $23 or the Savory Meatballs at $18. The Hand-Cut Ribeye is $75, the Center-Cut Filet Mignon is $74 for 8 oz, and the Braised Bone-In Beef Short Rib is $82 with whipped potatoes and natural jus. The Grilled Chicken Pasta at $29 covers the guest who does not want a steak. Shareable sides such as Mac-n-Cheese at $15 and Burgundy Mushrooms at $15 fill the middle of the table. Groups of 8 to 28 coming from the complex

The private Boardroom seats 8 to 20 at one long table behind a frosted glass door, with a large screen and a fully integrated AV system; semi-private arrangements go up to 28. Parties of 10 or more meet a food and beverage minimum, with the figure quoted in the proposal. Requests go through the event inquiry form and are answered within 48 hours.
