If the AV system matters, and the guest list can be held to 20, the private room for 20 is the better fit. If the headcount is the fixed thing, semi-private is the answer.
Who books 21 to 28
Rehearsal dinners are the natural fit. Two families, a wedding party and a few out-of-town friends land at 24 or 26 with no effort. The rehearsal dinner page is written for that group.
Company holiday parties are the other obvious case. A department of 25 with partners becomes a semi-private booking in December, when the sunset comes at about 5:25 PM and the district is lit below the windows by the time the first course arrives. Family reunions, milestone birthdays and post-conference dinners from the convention center, about 0.6 mile away, fill the rest of the calendar.
Feeding a bigger table
Private dining menus are tailored to the group, and a table of 28 is where family-style sides start to make sense. Whipped Potatoes at $14, Brussels Sprouts at $17, Creamed Spinach at $16 and Mac-n-Cheese at $15 come out for the table to pass. The Land & Sea Sampler at $26 per person covers starters for everyone in one order.
Entrées run from the Grilled Chicken Pasta at $29 to the Bone-In Ribeye at $90, with the 6 oz Center-Cut Filet Mignon at $62 in the middle of the range for a mixed table. A $25 split-plate fee applies to any composed entrée that two guests share. Timing, the piano and the parking
A semi-private group shares the room’s evening. Live piano plays on select nights at the grand piano by the windows near the bar; the schedule is not published, so ask which nights when you book if it matters either way. Parking at the tower is free. The kitchen serves lunch weekdays from 11 AM, dinner every night the doors are open, and the doors are not open on Sunday.
Groups arriving from a Rangers game or a concert should build in the district traffic; Mercury is north of the stadium lots on E Lamar Blvd, about a mile from Globe Life Field, which is the easy direction to leave in.
A table of 28 takes longer to serve than a table of four. Tell the events team your hard stop, a 7 PM first pitch a mile away or the 9 PM close on a weeknight, and the courses will be paced to it rather than discovered against it.
Beyond 28
The restaurant does not publish an option above 28 guests. If your list is longer, say so in the private dining request and let the events team tell you what a given date allows. For a group that can be split into a Boardroom party and a main-room party, the one-check rule still applies to each group of 12 or more.
