Thanksgiving Day itself: call before you plan on it

Thanksgiving 2026 falls on Thursday, November 26. Mercury Chophouse does not publish a fixed holiday schedule, and Thanksgiving Day service is decided each year. If you are hoping to sit down to a steak instead of a turkey on the day itself, call 817-381-1157 in early November and ask. The host stand will tell you whether the dining room is open that Thursday and, if it is, what hours apply.

What is settled is the rest of the week. The restaurant keeps its regular hours on the days around the holiday, and those days are when most families who come to us at Thanksgiving actually eat here.

The Wednesday before: the night the family arrives

Wednesday, November 25 is a regular weekday: doors open at 11 AM, the lunch menu runs from then, and the dinner menu takes over in the evening until 9 PM. It is the night out-of-town relatives land at DFW Airport, about 12 miles up Highway 360, and the night nobody wants to cook. A reservation for six or eight on Wednesday evening gives the host of Thursday’s meal a night off before the work begins.

Sunset that week is about 5:30 PM, so a table at 5:30 or 6 PM catches the last light over Six Flags and the stadiums, then the district lighting up below the curved window wall. Warm bread with garlic butter arrives first. For a table that has been traveling all day, the Land & Sea Sampler at $26 per person puts calamari, filet mignon cigars, a crab cake and shrimp cocktail in front of everyone at once.

Friday and Saturday after: the leftovers night out

By Friday, November 27 most households have eaten turkey twice. Mercury is open that Friday from 11 AM to 10 PM and Saturday, November 28 from 4 PM to 10 PM. Free garage and outdoor parking sits at the door, which matters when the group includes grandparents and a full car.

These two nights are also the busiest of the holiday week, and the Entertainment District often has events that weekend. Book ahead. Sunday, November 29 the restaurant is closed, so the Saturday table is the last chance before everyone drives home.

A family gathering in the Boardroom

When the Thanksgiving crowd runs past what one dining-room table can hold, the Boardroom is the answer. It seats 8 to 20 at a single long table behind a frosted glass door, with its own windows over the district and a large screen on an integrated AV system. Semi-private arrangements go up to 28. A private room on a holiday week is also a way to keep the cousins in one place and out of the main room.

Football is part of the deal for a lot of families that week, and the Boardroom’s screen can carry the game while dinner is served. Menus for the room can be tailored to the group, one check is presented, and a food and beverage minimum applies based on party size. Send the request through the event inquiry form and allow up to 48 hours for a reply; on a holiday week, send it early. The family reunion dinner page covers how larger groups are handled in more detail.

What to order when it is not turkey

Nobody comes to a chophouse that week for turkey. The dinner menu runs the same as any other night: the Center-Cut Filet Mignon at 6 oz for $62 or 8 oz for $74, the Bone-In Ribeye at $90, and the Dry-Aged 36 oz Porterhouse at $175 for two people who want to share. Guests who have had enough of the heavy side of the holiday tend toward the Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon at $48 or the Seared Sea Bass at $57.

The desserts fit the season without trying to. The Cherry & Pecan Bread Pudding at $16 comes with vanilla ice cream, the Italian Cream Cake is $17, and the Key Lime Pie is $16. Coffee libations such as the Classic Irish at $16 with Jameson, or a Keoke with Ferrand 1840 Cognac, finish a long meal.

Planning notes for the week

Two policies to know before you gather a large group. Parties of 6 or more carry a 20% gratuity, and groups of 12 or more in the main dining room are presented one check. A $25 split-plate fee applies to composed entrées, which matters if two family members plan to share one plate.

The dress code is business casual: collared shirts and sports coats are encouraged for men, jeans without rips are fine for everyone, and hoodies, athletic wear and baseball caps are not admitted. Relatives arriving straight from the airport can read the dress code page before they pack. For the Christmas and New Year’s Eve stretch that follows, see the holiday dinner page.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mercury Chophouse open on Thanksgiving Day 2026?

That is not confirmed in advance. Thanksgiving Day service is decided each year, so call 817-381-1157 in early November and ask whether the dining room will be open on Thursday, November 26 and what the hours are. The Wednesday before and the Friday and Saturday after keep regular hours.

Can we reserve the Boardroom for a family dinner during Thanksgiving week?

Yes. The Boardroom seats 8 to 20 at one long table, with semi-private space for up to 28, and has a large screen for the football games that week. Submit the event inquiry form as early as you can; replies take up to 48 hours, one check is presented, and a food and beverage minimum applies.

What are the hours on the Saturday after Thanksgiving?

Saturday, November 28, 2026 is dinner only, 4 PM to 10 PM, with free parking at the tower entrance. It is a busy night, so reserve on OpenTable or by phone rather than counting on a walk-in table. The restaurant is closed the following day, Sunday, November 29.

Is there a special Thanksgiving menu?

No holiday menu is published. The regular dinner menu is served, with steaks from the 6 oz filet at $62 to the 27 oz Wagyu Long Bone Ribeye at $210, plus salmon, sea bass and Chicken Saltimbocca. Groups in the Boardroom can have a menu tailored to the party when they book the room.

How early should we book for the days around Thanksgiving?

As soon as the family's travel dates are set. The Friday and Saturday after the holiday are among the busiest nights of the week, and the Entertainment District often hosts events that weekend. Wednesday evening is easier to get but still worth reserving for a party of six or more.
