Eleven choices is a long list for a room this size, and it splits into four potatoes, four greens, a risotto, a mushroom and a mac. The current list with any changes is on the HTML menu.
How many to order
The steak listings on the menu name a butter, herbal on the filets and Dijon on the bone-in cuts, and nothing else, so a steak arrives on its own. Plan on one side per two guests as a floor and one per person if the table is hungry. A couple splitting a Hand-Cut Ribeye at $75 and a 6 oz Center-Cut Filet Mignon at $62 does well with Whipped Potatoes and Creamed Spinach, $30 for both. A table of four ordering four steaks usually adds three sides, a potato, a green and a mushroom or risotto, for $45 to $50. Whipped Potatoes at $14 are the default under a filet, and the Baked Potato at $14 is the choice for guests who want the classic steakhouse plate. Burgundy Mushrooms at $15 go under a ribeye the way a sauce would, and the Corn Risotto at $16 pairs with seafood and beef equally well. If the table is sharing a 27 oz Wagyu Long Bone Ribeye at $210, which comes with crispy onion strings, one potato and one green are enough.
The Mac-n-Cheese with lobster, $35 total, counts as a side on the check but eats like a small course, and a table of four can share it as a first round while the steaks cook. The steak toppers page covers what goes on the steak itself.
Sides that already come with an entrée
Several composed entrées include sides, so a table with a mix of steaks and plates needs fewer extras than it might think.
| Entrée | Price | Included sides |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso-Rubbed Elk | $85 | Whipped potatoes, broccolini |
| Braised Bone-In Beef Short Rib | $82 | Whipped potatoes, baby carrots, natural jus |
| Seared Sea Bass | $57 | Corn risotto, grilled asparagus |
| Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon | $48 | Whipped potatoes, broccolini |
| Crab Cakes | $44 | Whipped potatoes, asparagus |
| Chicken Saltimbocca | $42 | Whipped potatoes, baby carrots |
If two guests order the salmon and the short rib, the table already has whipped potatoes twice and broccolini once; add a risotto or the Burgundy Mushrooms and stop there. The Grilled Chicken Pasta at $29 and the Tortellini Bolognese at $32 are complete on their own and need no side at all.
Bacon, dairy and vegetarian notes
Two sides contain bacon and are marked that way on the menu: the Brussels Sprouts and the au Gratin Potatoes. Vegetarian guests have nine others to choose from, and a plate built from Corn Risotto, Grilled Asparagus and Burgundy Mushrooms is a full dinner on its own; the vegetarian options page goes further. Creamed Spinach, Mac-n-Cheese, au Gratin Potatoes and the risotto are dairy-heavy; the Baked Potato, Broccolini, Grilled Asparagus and Hand-Cut Fries are the lighter choices.
The menu asks guests to tell their server about food allergies before ordering, and that applies to sides as much as to steaks, since butters and sauces vary. Gluten is the other question guests raise. Steaks and chops are naturally gluten-free, and the vegetable sides are the safest pairing; the Mac-n-Cheese and the au Gratin are the ones to ask about. The kitchen does not claim a certified gluten-free line, so the conversation with your server is the reliable step.
Sides at lunch
The weekday lunch menu, served from 11:00 AM Monday through Friday, carries nine of the eleven sides at the same prices, with two changes: the Mac-n-Cheese drops to $12 (lobster still $20 more), and the Baked Potato and the au Gratin Potatoes are not listed. Lunch sandwiches come with steak fries, a small salad or a cup of soup already, so a lunch table rarely needs more than one shared side.
Sides are served throughout the ninth-floor dining room and in The Boardroom, where a party of 8 to 20 at one long table typically orders them family style down the middle. The Boardroom’s fully integrated AV system and large screen make it the room for a watch party, and sides suit a watch-party table: fries with truffle oil and Parmesan for $13, the Mac-n-Cheese, the Brussels Sprouts. Requests through the event inquiry form are answered within 48 hours. Parties of six or more carry a 20% gratuity, and Sunday the restaurant is closed.

Frequently asked questions
Are the sides at Mercury Chophouse big enough to share?
Yes. The menu heads the section Shareable Sides, and each is portioned for two or more guests. One side per two people is a reasonable minimum; one per person is generous. Prices run from $11 for Hand-Cut Fries to $18 for Grilled Asparagus, so three sides for a table of four is $45 to $50.
Which sides contain bacon?
Two are marked on the menu: the Brussels Sprouts at $17 and the au Gratin Potatoes at $16. The other nine sides are free of bacon as listed, though the kitchen asks that allergies and dietary needs be mentioned to your server before ordering.
Does a steak come with a side?
No. Each steak is listed with its butter, such as herbal butter on the Center-Cut Filet Mignon or Dijon butter on the Bone-In Ribeye, and sides are ordered separately from the Shareable Sides list. Composed entrées such as the salmon, sea bass, short rib and elk do include sides.
Can I add lobster to the mac and cheese?
Yes. The Mac-n-Cheese is $15 at dinner and $12 at weekday lunch, and lobster can be added for $20 at either service. Many tables order it as a shared first round before the steaks. Lobster is also available Oscar Style on any steak for $20.
Are there truffle fries?
The Hand-Cut Fries are $11, and for $2 more the kitchen adds truffle oil and Parmesan. That brings the plate to $13, the least expensive side on the menu even with the upgrade. The fries are on both the lunch and dinner lists.
