Mercury Chophouse – Arlington is about 1 mile and a 4-minute drive from Globe Life Field outside event traffic, on the ninth floor at 2221 E Lamar Blvd. For a concert, book dinner about two and a half hours before the time printed on your ticket, eat with the stadium in view, then take Ballpark Way south into the district.

Working back from the ticket
Concert nights at Globe Life Field run on the promoter’s clock, not the restaurant’s, and the two things you cannot control are the doors time and the traffic. The only number you own is your reservation. Work back from the show time on your ticket and give yourself a drive that would be comical on a Tuesday afternoon.
| Show time on the ticket | Book dinner by | Leave the restaurant by |
|---|---|---|
| 7:00 PM | 4:30 PM | 6:00 PM |
| 7:30 PM | 5:00 PM | 6:30 PM |
| 8:00 PM | 5:30 PM | 7:00 PM |
| 8:30 PM | 6:00 PM | 7:30 PM |
That gives 90 minutes at the table and an hour to cover a mile, park or get dropped, and get through the gates. It sounds generous until you are on Ballpark Way at 6:45 with thirty thousand other people. On Saturday the doors here open at 4 PM, so the earliest row in the table is the first seating of the night. Sunday concerts are the exception: the restaurant is closed Sunday, so eat elsewhere that day.
The drive, and why Lamar helps
The restaurant is in the Brookhollow Two office tower on East Lamar Boulevard, on the north edge of the Entertainment District. Globe Life Field is about 1 mile south. Lamar connects to Ballpark Way and the Nolan Ryan Expressway, which run straight down into the stadium district, and to Highway 360 about a mile east.
Coming in, that geography means you reach the tower without driving through the stadium lots, which are already filling while you eat. You park in the garage or the outdoor lot at the tower, at no charge, and take the elevator to the ninth floor, Suite 910. Leaving, you join the concert traffic from its north side rather than from inside it. Stadium parking and rideshare drop-offs are the venue’s business; the restaurant has not published any arrangement for leaving a car at the tower during a show, so plan the concert side of the trip separately. The parking page covers the tower’s own lot.
What to eat before three hours of standing
Order for the night ahead, not for the sake of the menu. Tell your server the show time; the kitchen cannot promise a pace, but the server will course the meal with the clock in mind.
A concert-night order that finishes in about 90 minutes: Filet Mignon Cigars at $17 or the Chophouse Calamari at $17 for the table, then a 6 oz Center-Cut Filet Mignon at $62, the Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon at $48 or the Grilled Chicken Pasta at $29. Whipped Potatoes at $14 and Grilled Asparagus at $18 are shared sides that arrive with the mains. If dessert fits, the Key Lime Pie at $16 is the quick one. Water and a coffee at $4 on the way out beat a third cocktail before a long night on your feet.
The full dinner menu is on the menu page; on a weekday before the dinner switch you may be offered the lunch menu, which is faster still.
The stadium in the window
Globe Life Field is one of the buildings you look down on from the dining room. The main room is wrapped by a curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, and from a table at that wall the ballpark, with its retractable roof, sits about a mile away with AT&T Stadium beyond it and the tower at Six Flags Over Texas to one side. On a show night you can watch the lots fill while you eat, which is the best argument for the book-by times above.
Window tables are not guaranteed, but a note on the reservation helps, and a 5 PM seating has better odds than a 7 PM one. The restaurants near Globe Life Field page covers the room and the route on game days as well as concert nights.
Dress code and concert clothes
This is where concert dinners go wrong. The dress code is business casual and it is enforced at the door. Baseball caps, beanies, hoodies, sweatpants, athletic wear and graphic T-shirts are not permitted for men, and yoga pants, loungewear and flip-flops are too casual for women. A tour T-shirt is a graphic T-shirt. Unripped jeans, a collared shirt or a dress, and closed shoes are fine, and a cowboy hat is welcome as long as it comes off at the table.
The practical solution is to dress for dinner and carry the concert layer, or to accept that this is the dressed-up half of the evening. Management reserves the right to decline service, and it would be a poor start to the night to find that out at the host stand. The dress code answer page has the full list.
After the encore
Most Globe Life Field concerts end after the restaurant has closed: 9 PM Monday through Thursday, 10 PM Friday and Saturday. Dinner here is a before-the-show plan, not an after. If you want a late plate, the Friday and Saturday 10 PM close gives room for an early show or a drink at the bar before you head in. Reservations go through OpenTable or 817-381-1157, and concert dates fill the way Rangers home dates do, so book the day you buy the tickets.

Frequently asked questions
How early should I book dinner for a 7:30 PM concert at Globe Life Field?
Book for 5 PM. That gives 90 minutes at the table, and an hour to drive about a mile, deal with stadium parking or a rideshare drop, and get through the gates. On a Saturday, 5 PM is an hour after the doors open, which is also when window tables are easiest to get.
Can I leave my car at Mercury Chophouse and walk to the concert?
The restaurant has not published a policy on leaving cars at the tower during events, and the lot belongs to the office building. Globe Life Field is about a mile away by road. Call 817-381-1157 before you plan on it, and otherwise arrange stadium parking or a rideshare for the concert leg.
Is the restaurant open after a Globe Life Field concert lets out?
Usually not. Closing is 9 PM Monday through Thursday and 10 PM Friday and Saturday, and most concerts run past those times. Sundays the restaurant is closed all day. Treat dinner as the first half of the evening and plan any after-show stop elsewhere.
How bad is the traffic from the restaurant to the stadium on a concert night?
The distance is about a mile, but Ballpark Way and the district roads fill in the hour before doors. Because the restaurant is on Lamar, north of the stadium lots, you join the traffic from the outside rather than crossing it. Allow a full hour from paying the check to your seat.
Can I get a quicker meal on a concert night?
Yes. Tell the host and your server the show time when you book and when you sit. Starters like the Filet Mignon Cigars at $17 and mains like the 6 oz filet at $62 or the salmon at $48 move quickly. On weekdays before the dinner switch, the lunch menu is faster still.
