The Boardroom at Mercury Chophouse at night with the lights low, the long table ready for a team dinner in Arlington

Ending the kickoff at one table instead of six

A team dinner falls apart when the team is spread across three tables and the manager has to make the same toast three times. The Boardroom at Mercury Chophouse seats 8 to 20 people at one long table, and that single fact does most of the work. The person who closed the biggest deal sits across from the person who is new. The screen at the end of the room shows the number the whole year is built on, then goes dark and the room is a steakhouse again.

Groups of 21 to 28 have a semi-private option. Groups of 12 or more in the main dining room receive one check, but they do not get the door or the screen, so the room is the right call for a kickoff.

Hotels, the airport and the drive for a traveling team

Kickoffs pull people in from every territory. Arlington sits between Dallas and Fort Worth, and the district hotels are minutes from the table.

The address is 2221 E Lamar Blvd, Suite 910, on the ninth floor of the Brookhollow Two office tower. Guests park in the garage or the outdoor lot and take the elevator. If the kickoff itself is at the convention center, the conference group dinner page covers the walk-over logistics.

Slides, awards and the light in the room

The Boardroom has a fully integrated AV system with a large screen. Use it for the quarter’s results, the president’s club slide, or a two-minute video from the CEO who could not make the flight. Bring the deck on a laptop and put the request in your inquiry so the team can confirm the connection; the system’s technical details are not published.

The room also has what the restaurant calls Arlington’s best panoramic view of the Entertainment District. January kickoffs see sunset at about 5:40 PM, so a 5:30 arrival puts the awards slide up against the sky. October offsites get a 7 PM sunset; a 6:30 seating catches it.

A menu for twenty people who do not agree on anything

Private menus are tailored to the group, built from the same dinner menu the main room serves. The steaks carry the table: the 6 oz Center-Cut Filet Mignon at $62, the Hand-Cut Ribeye at $75, the Bone-In Ribeye at $90. For the colleague who does not eat steak, Chicken Saltimbocca is $42, Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon is $48, and Grilled Chicken Pasta is $29. Sides come out for the table to share, from Whipped Potatoes at $14 to Grilled Asparagus at $18.

The bar suits a sales team. There are about 40 American whiskeys by the 2 oz pour, from Buffalo Trace at $14 to Blanton’s at $38 and Booker’s at $42, plus Texas bottles like Garrison Bros. Small Batch at $23. The MCA Smoked Manhattan is $18. See the full menu for the rest.

One check and a clean expense report

Every Boardroom group is presented with one check and no split checks, which is the arrangement a corporate card wants. Parties of 10 or more meet a food and beverage minimum based on party size; the figure is quoted in the written proposal you receive after the 48-hour availability check, and there are no published amounts. Parties of 6 or more carry a 20% gratuity, and a $25 fee applies to any composed entrée that two guests split.

How the restaurant handles invoicing, pre-payment or a deposit is not published. Ask in the inquiry, and confirm it in writing with the proposal. Recognition gifts for the top performers can be handled through the Toast eGift link on the corporate gift cards page.

Working lunch or evening dinner

A kickoff that breaks at noon can move into the Boardroom for lunch; the lunch menu runs Monday through Friday from 11 AM, with the Marinated Steak Sandwich at $19, the Cobb in a Mold at $16 and the Wagyu London Broil at $65. Evening dinners run until 9 PM Monday through Thursday and 10 PM Friday, with Saturday dinner from 4 PM. There is no Sunday service. Team polos are fine under the business casual dress code, which asks for collared shirts and no hoodies or athletic wear. Start with the event inquiry form.

Frequently asked questions

Can we run a 15-minute presentation before the team dinner starts?

Yes. The Boardroom's integrated AV system and large screen are there for that. Bring the deck on a laptop and describe the plan in your inquiry so the events team can confirm how to connect and when to hold service. The technical specifications of the system are not published, so ask rather than assume.

How does paying with a corporate card work for a group of 18?

One check is presented for any group in the Boardroom, so a single card settles the evening. It is not published if the restaurant can invoice a company or accept pre-payment; raise it in the inquiry and have it written into the proposal alongside the food and beverage minimum and the 20% gratuity.

Is the room separate enough for one person to address the whole team?

The Boardroom is its own room behind a frosted glass door, apart from the main dining floor, and the table is a single long one so a speaker at either end reaches everyone. The restaurant does not describe the room as soundproofed, so plan on normal speaking volume rather than a microphone.

What if the sales team is 25 people?

The Boardroom tops out at 20. A semi-private option takes up to 28, though the AV system and screen are part of the Boardroom, so check what a semi-private group can use. Above 28, describe the headcount in the inquiry and the events team will say what your date allows.

Can teammates landing at DFW at 5 PM make a 7 PM dinner?

In most cases, yes. DFW Airport is about 12 miles away, 15 to 20 minutes via Highway 360 outside event traffic. Check the Rangers and Cowboys schedules and AT&T Stadium concerts for that date, because district traffic adds time. Mercury sits north of the stadium lots on E Lamar Blvd, which helps.

Does the dress code apply to a team in company polos?

Company polos meet the collared-shirt guideline. The business casual dress code allows tailored trousers and unripped jeans, encourages sports coats, and prohibits graphic T-shirts, baseball caps, beanies, hoodies, athletic wear and sweatpants. Flip-flops and slides are too casual. Management reserves the right to enforce it.
