An anniversary dinner at Mercury Chophouse – Arlington means a ninth-floor table above the Entertainment District, a Dry-Aged 36 oz Porterhouse ($175) to carve for two, a wine list that starts at a $78 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and climbs to Opus One, and vintage ports such as the 1985 Kopke Colheita. Mention the anniversary when you book at 817-381-1157.

Say it when you book
The single most useful thing you can do for an anniversary dinner is tell the restaurant it is one. When you reserve, say which anniversary, ask for a window table or a booth, and mention anything you are planning, such as a dessert you want held until a certain moment. The host team notes it on the reservation. Guests have written about small touches on anniversaries, but those are at management’s discretion and are not something to count on. What you can count on is a room that takes the occasion seriously: white linen, chandeliers, a curved wall of windows over the district and a pianist on select evenings.
If the date lands on a Sunday, move it to Saturday. Mercury is closed Sundays and open 4 to 10 PM on Saturday.
A cut for the year
| Cut | Size | Price | Why it suits an anniversary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Center-Cut Filet Mignon | 6 oz or 8 oz | $62 / $74 | One each, with herbal butter; the quiet classic |
| Wagyu Filet | 8 oz | $105 | A step up for a milestone year |
| Dry-Aged Porterhouse | 36 oz | $175 | Strip and filet on one bone, made for two |
| Wagyu Long Bone Ribeye | 27 oz | $210 | The signature cut, with crispy onion strings and Dijon butter |
Dress the steak for the occasion: Oscar Style with lobster adds $20, Truffle Butter adds $8, and the Sauce Flight of Rye Whiskey Cream, Demi-Glace and Béarnaise is $9. If you would rather not eat beef on the night, the Seared Sea Bass ($57) and the Chicken Saltimbocca ($42) are the two dishes that pair most naturally across the table from a steak. The porterhouse page explains how the big cut is served.
Something to open
The wine wall behind the hostess stand is glass-fronted, and the bar sits directly behind it. The list is deepest in Pinot Noir and West Coast red blends. On the Pinot side it starts at $78 with Ken Wright from the Willamette Valley. The red blends start at $78 with Roth Heritage and run through The Prisoner ($85), Cain Five ($248) and Quintessa ($525) to Opus One 2022 at $686. Bordeaux, Barolo, Brunello, Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Amarone, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Mendoza Malbec are all represented, and there is a 1999 Musar at $379 for an anniversary that goes back that far. Wines are poured by the glass and the bottle. The full list is on the wine page, and the wine and steak pairing page matches bottles to cuts.
A vintage from the year you married
The port list is where an anniversary gets specific. The Quinta do Noval Colheita 2009 is $22 a pour and the Kopke Colheita 1985 is $48, both single-harvest ports that carry a year on the label. Taylor Fladgate 20-year is $15, Fonseca Bin 27 is $14, and the Messina Hof Papa Paulo is a Texas port at $16. For a bigger gesture, Hennessy XO is $65 and Louis XIII by Rémy Martin is $150 for a half-ounce serving.
Desserts to go with them: Italian Cream Cake ($17), Crème Brûlée ($15), New York Cheesecake with berry coulis ($15), Cherry & Pecan Bread Pudding ($16). The Keoke coffee ($16) with Ferrand 1840 Cognac and Mozart chocolate liqueur is the one to order if you want to stay a while.
When the whole family comes
A 25th or 50th anniversary often brings children and grandchildren, and that changes the booking. Parties of six or more carry a 20% gratuity. Parties of ten or more meet a food and beverage minimum based on size. Groups of twelve or more in the main dining room receive one check.
For eight to twenty guests, The Boardroom puts everyone at a single long table behind a frosted glass door, with its own window view of the district and the sunset, and a large screen for a slideshow of the years. Semi-private seating extends to 28. Private dining menus can be tailored, the minimum is quoted in the written proposal, and the request goes through the event inquiry form, which is answered within 48 hours. The private dining page has the room in detail.
Timing the evening
Sunset sets the schedule. It falls near 5:40 PM in January, 7:55 PM in April, 8:15 PM in August and 5:30 PM in November, and the window wall faces it. Book half an hour ahead of it and ask for the glass. Saturday service starts at 4 PM, so a winter anniversary can catch the light early and still be home by nine. Free garage and outdoor parking is at the tower. Dress is business casual, jacket optional, and hats off at the table.

Frequently asked questions
Will Mercury Chophouse do anything special for our anniversary?
Tell the host it is an anniversary when you book and note it in the reservation. Guests have mentioned small touches on anniversaries, but those are at the manager's discretion and are not promised. What you can arrange in advance is a window or booth request and the timing of dessert.
Can I have flowers or a gift waiting at the table before we arrive?
Call 817-381-1157 ahead of the evening and ask. The host stand can tell you what it is able to hold and set out and when to drop it off. Because the restaurant is on the ninth floor of an office tower, plan to bring anything up in the elevator yourself rather than leaving it in the lobby.
Which wine goes with the porterhouse for an anniversary dinner?
A 36 oz Dry-Aged Porterhouse carries both strip and filet, so a West Coast red blend or a Bordeaux sits well with both. The Prisoner is $85 and Cain Five is $248 if you want to mark the night. Your server can also pour by the glass so each of you drinks something different.
Can we hold a 50th anniversary dinner for 18 people at Mercury Chophouse?
Yes. The Boardroom seats 8 to 20 at one long table with a window view and a large screen for photos. Submit the event inquiry form, allow up to 48 hours for a reply, and expect a food and beverage minimum and a single check for the room.
Is the 36 oz porterhouse enough for two people?
For most couples, yes. It is a dry-aged strip and filet on one bone with bone marrow confited shallots, and with a starter and two sides it feeds two comfortably. If you want it plated as two separate entrées, a $25 split plate fee applies to composed entrées.
Our anniversary falls on a Sunday this year. What are our options?
Mercury Chophouse – Arlington is closed on Sundays. The Saturday before runs 4 to 10 PM, Friday runs 11 AM to 10 PM, and Monday through Thursday the restaurant is open 11 AM to 9 PM if a weeknight dinner suits you better.
