Christmas dinner in Arlington starts with a calendar check, because the restaurant does not publish holiday hours and is closed every Sunday. Here is how the last week of 2026 falls under regular hours, with the caveat that any of these days can change.

Holiday weeks, not holiday days

Most Christmas dinners at Mercury do not happen on the 25th. They happen in the two or three weeks before it, when family is in town, offices close early and someone wants a dinner that does not involve cooking. A weeknight in mid-December has the same room and menu as a Saturday with far more open tables, and the sun sets at about 5:25 PM, so even a 5:30 reservation gets the district lights from the ninth floor. Parking at the tower is free every night. Weekday lunch, served from 11 AM, works for a family with children or for out-of-town relatives who would rather see the view in daylight. Reserve early in the month for anything on a Friday or Saturday; December weekends fill.

Family gatherings in The Boardroom

For the family that has outgrown a single table in the main room, The Boardroom seats 8 to 20 at one long table behind a frosted glass door lettered Mercury Board Room. It has its own window view of the district and the sunset, and a fully integrated AV system with a large screen, which in December tends to mean a slideshow of the year or a game on in the background. Semi-private seating takes a larger family to 28.

Private dining menus can be tailored, a food and beverage minimum is quoted in the written proposal, and the room is settled on one check. A winter menu

The dinner menu does not change for Christmas, but parts of it read like December. The Braised Bone-In Beef Short Rib ($82) comes on whipped potatoes with baby carrots and natural jus. The Espresso-Rubbed Elk ($85) is the plate for someone who wants game at the holidays. The Double-Bone Pork Chop ($59) carries a thyme-onion-bacon jam. The Signature Wagyu & Black Truffle Ravioli ($34) sits on wild mushroom risotto. Warm bread with garlic butter comes to every table.

Dessert is Cherry & Pecan Bread Pudding ($16) with vanilla ice cream, or the gluten-free Chocolate Torte ($15), or an Apple Pie à la Mode ($18) that is a shaken ice cream cocktail rather than a slice. The coffee libations are the December drinks: a Classic Irish ($16) with Jameson, upgraded to Redbreast 12 for $6, a Keoke ($16) with Ferrand 1840 Cognac and Mozart chocolate liqueur, and a Mexican Coffee ($16) with Arette Reposado and Kahlua.
