The host's checklist

You are picking the place, sending the invite and paying the check. What you need to know fits in a few lines. Lunch is weekdays only, starting at 11 AM. The room is quiet at midday. The menu covers a $17 burger and a $54 filet on the same card, so guests can order to their own comfort. Parking is a garage and an outdoor lot at an office tower, not a stadium lot. And there is a private room with a screen if the lunch has an agenda.

Everything below expands on those points. For the executive who wants the lunch to make a statement rather than get work done, the power lunch page is written for that reader.

Keeping to the hour

Tell the server when you sit down if the table has a hard stop, and order starters and mains together. Sandwiches and salads are the quicker orders; a steak cooked to temperature takes longer, as it should. Coffee is $4 and espresso $5 if the meeting runs past the plates. If the group wants the room to itself, the Boardroom removes the time pressure entirely: nobody is waiting for the table.

A reservation at 11:30 AM gets the first seating of the day, before the room fills; a 12:30 table is the more common choice and works when the meeting has no fixed end. Water, warm bread with garlic butter and the menus arrive as you sit.

The Boardroom for a lunch meeting

The Boardroom is the private room behind the frosted glass door. One long table seats 8 to 20, with semi-private arrangements up to 28. The room has a fully integrated AV system and a large screen, so a deck or a video call can run over lunch, and it has its own windows over the district. The restaurant lists lunch meetings with colleagues as one of the room’s intended uses.

One check is presented for any group in the Boardroom, a food and beverage minimum applies and is quoted with the proposal, and menus can be tailored. Submit the event inquiry form and allow up to 48 hours for a response. Details on using the room for meetings are on the business lunch meeting space page.

Parking, the elevator and the check

Mercury is in the Brookhollow Two office tower at 2221 E Lamar Blvd, about a mile west of the Highway 360 interchange and a mile north of I-30. Guests park in the tower’s garage or its outdoor lot and take the elevator to the ninth floor, Suite 910. The garage and the outdoor lot are open at lunch as well as at dinner. Dress is business casual, which at midday means what your guests wore to the office.

On the check: parties of 6 or more carry an automatic 20% gratuity, and groups of 12 or more in the main room receive one check. If you are hosting, say so to the server at the start and the check comes to you.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reserve a weekday lunch table for 10 people?

Yes, through OpenTable or by phone at 817-381-1157. A party of 10 sits in the main dining room with a 20% gratuity added. If the group needs a screen, privacy or one guaranteed check, the Boardroom seats 8 to 20 and is requested through the event inquiry form with up to 48 hours for a reply.

Is the lunch menu available on Saturday?

No. Saturday service starts at 4 PM with the dinner menu only, and the restaurant is closed on Sunday. The lunch card, with sandwiches from $14 and the 6 oz filet at $54, is served Monday through Friday from 11 AM.

How far is Mercury Chophouse from offices along Highway 360?

About a mile. E Lamar Blvd meets Highway 360 roughly a mile east of the restaurant, and I-30 is about a mile south by way of Ballpark Way. The Brookhollow Two tower has its own garage and outdoor lot, so a guest can be parked and in the elevator within a few minutes of leaving the highway.

Can we run a presentation or a video call during lunch?

In the Boardroom, yes. It has a fully integrated AV system with a large screen and a single long table for 8 to 20, and the restaurant names lunch meetings as one of its uses. Book it through the event inquiry form rather than OpenTable; the main dining room has no screens at the tables.

What does a business lunch cost per person?

Sandwiches run $14 to $19 with a side, salads $15 to $24, entrées such as the tacos or grilled chicken $17, the chicken fried steak or salmon $24, and steaks $54 to $82. Coffee is $4. Budget the menu price plus tax and a 20% gratuity for six or more.

Is there a food and beverage minimum for a Boardroom lunch?

Yes. Any group in the Boardroom, and any party of 10 or more anywhere in the restaurant, is subject to a food and beverage minimum based on party size. The dollar figure is not published; it is quoted in the written proposal you receive after submitting the private dining request.
