The lunch menu gives way to the dinner menu in the afternoon, but the switch-over hour is not published. If you are planning a late lunch, say so when you book and the host will tell you which menu you will be looking at. The restaurant closes at 9 PM Monday through Thursday and 10 PM on Friday.

Lunch has its own rhythm on the ninth floor: the same white tablecloths and the same curved window wall as dinner, but with daylight over Six Flags Over Texas and Globe Life Field instead of city lights, and a menu written for people who have somewhere to be at 1:30.

Salads and lighter plates

Salads carry the lunch menu for people who want something lighter than a chop. The Cobb in a Mold at $16 is a stacked version of the classic: romaine, applewood-smoked bacon, avocado, tomato, Gorgonzola, bleu cheese dressing and crispy onion strings. The Crab and Shrimp Louie is $24. Caesar is $16, a traditional spinach salad $15, a Caprese $18, and a soup and salad combo $16. Add grilled chicken for $10, grilled shrimp or salmon for $15, or marinated skirt steak for $16. House dressings are Caesar, Champagne vinaigrette, Thousand Island, ranch, bleu cheese and balsamic.

Starters at lunch sit slightly below dinner pricing too: Filet Mignon Cigars $15, Chophouse Calamari $15, Savory Meatballs $16, MCA Shrimp Cocktail $17, and the Gulf shrimp and crab ceviche $23.

A lunch meeting in the Boardroom

The private Boardroom is available at lunch, and the restaurant lists lunch meetings with colleagues among its intended uses. It seats 8 to 20 at one long table behind a frosted glass door, with an AV system and a large screen for a presentation and a panoramic view of the district behind it. Groups of 10 or more meet a food and beverage minimum, and the Boardroom always runs on a single check. Requests go through the event inquiry form; allow 48 hours. The business lunch page covers the main dining room option, and for a quieter table there, ask for one away from the bar.

Timing lunch around the district

Lunch on the ninth floor works well as the meal between things. The Arlington Convention Center and the Loews Arlington hotel are about 0.6 mile away, Six Flags Over Texas about a mile, and the National Medal of Honor Museum about 1.6 miles. Weekday daytime traffic on E Lamar Blvd is far lighter than event-night traffic, and self-parking in the tower lot is straightforward. Rangers games are mostly evenings, so a weekday lunch rarely collides with a crowd. The convention center page has the walk and drive from the hall.

If you are coming from Highway 360, the E Lamar Blvd exit is about a mile east of the tower; from I-30, exit Ballpark Way and head north about a mile.

Frequently asked questions

What time does lunch start at Mercury Chophouse?

11 AM, Monday through Friday. The lunch menu runs into the afternoon before the dinner menu takes over; the exact changeover hour is not published, so ask when you book a late lunch. The restaurant is on the ninth floor of the Brookhollow Two tower at 2221 E Lamar Blvd.

Is there lunch on Saturday at Mercury Chophouse?

No. Saturday service is dinner only, from 4 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday the restaurant is closed. Weekday lunch, Monday through Friday from 11 AM, is the only midday service, with the lunch menu's sandwiches, salads and lunch-priced steaks.

What comes with the Chophouse Burger?

The $17 Chophouse Burger is build-your-own, with cheese for $1.50, bacon $2, mushrooms $1, grilled onions $1, avocado $1.50 and jalapeños $1. Like every lunch sandwich, it comes with a choice of steak fries, a small salad or a cup of the soup du jour.

Are steaks cheaper at lunch than at dinner?

Yes, by $8 on the cuts that appear on both menus. The 6 oz center-cut filet is $54 at lunch and $62 at dinner, the 8 oz filet $67 against $74, the hand-cut ribeye $67 against $75, and the bone-in ribeye $82 against $90. The $65 Wagyu London Broil is served only at lunch.

Can I get in and out in an hour at lunch?

Usually, if you tell your server when you sit down. Sandwiches, salads and the tacos move fastest; a bone-in ribeye takes longer. Book a table for 11:30 or noon, order when the server first comes by, and mention the time you need to leave. Self-parking at the tower makes the exit quick.

Can I book the Boardroom for a lunch meeting?

Yes. The Boardroom seats 8 to 20 at a single long table with a fully integrated AV system and a large screen, and the restaurant names lunch meetings among its uses. Submit the event inquiry form with the date and headcount; replies come within 48 hours, and a food and beverage minimum applies at 10 or more.
