Five minutes from the gates, nine floors above the traffic

AT&T Stadium sits at 1 AT&T Way in the middle of the Arlington Entertainment District. Mercury Chophouse – Arlington is at 2221 E Lamar Blvd, Suite 910, about 1.5 miles to the north, on the top floor of the Brookhollow Two office tower. In normal traffic the drive is about five minutes.

The route is simple. From the stadium, head north on Ballpark Way, which runs as Nolan Ryan Expressway through the district, to E Lamar Blvd, then turn east to the tower. Coming from I-30, take the Ballpark Way exit and go north about a mile. From Highway 360, exit at Lamar and head west about a mile. Park in the tower’s garage or its outdoor lot, take the elevator to the ninth floor, and the stadium roof is out the window before you sit down. Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor are on the same short stretch of Lamar, so the tower is easy to spot.

Sunday is the catch

Most Cowboys home games are on Sunday, and Mercury is closed on Sunday. That is worth knowing before you plan. The games that line up with the dining room are the Thursday night, Monday night and late-season Saturday dates, and for a Sunday game the move is dinner on Friday or Saturday night, when the kitchen runs until 10 PM.

Concerts are the other half of the stadium calendar, and they land on any night of the week. A Friday or Saturday show gives you the widest window; a Tuesday show still leaves time for a full dinner before doors, since the restaurant opens at 11 AM on weekdays. Timing a dinner around a 7 PM kickoff or show

Two hours at the table is comfortable for a starter, a steak and dessert. Work backward from the time you want to be in your seat and add a cushion for the district’s event-night lanes, which slow down well before the start.

Tell your server what time you need to leave when you sit down. The kitchen can pace the courses to it.

What to order when the clock matters

Start with the Filet Mignon Cigars at $17, flash fried with a Sriracha and lime crème, or the Chophouse Calamari at $17. The Hand-Cut Ribeye is $75, the Center-Cut Filet Mignon is $62 for 6 oz, and the Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon is $48 with whipped potatoes and broccolini. Shareable sides such as the Hand-Cut Fries at $11 and Brussels Sprouts at $17 come out fast.

Two policies to know for a group heading to the game together: a 20% gratuity is added for parties of six or more, and there is a $25 split plate fee on composed entrées. Full prices are on the menu.

Or watch it from the ninth floor

Some guests come for the game without going to the game. The marble-topped bar has TVs along the back bar, and the private Boardroom has a fully integrated AV system with a large screen, a single long table for 8 to 20, and semi-private space for up to 28. The restaurant built it for watch parties, with the stadium itself visible through the glass behind the screen. Book it for a Thursday night game and the whole table watches one broadcast while the stadium lights come up outside.

Boardroom bookings get one check, a food and beverage minimum applies to parties of 10 or more, and requests through the event inquiry form are answered within 48 hours.

Dress code with a game afterward

Mercury is business casual. Collared shirts and sports coats are encouraged for men, jeans without rips are welcome for everyone, and a jacket and tie are never required. Graphic T-shirts, baseball caps, athletic wear and hoodies are on the prohibited list, so wear the jersey into the stadium, not into the dining room. Cowboy hats are welcome, removed once you sit. Ladies are asked for refined attire; stylish separates and tasteful dresses are the norm, and flip-flops, yoga pants and loungewear are too casual. The full policy is on the dress code page.
