The calendar for Valentine's 2027

Start with the date, because it is the awkward part. February 14, 2027 is a Sunday, and Mercury Chophouse – Arlington does not open on Sundays. That makes the Friday and Saturday before the real Valentine’s nights on the ninth floor. Here is the week as it stands under regular hours.

DateDayRegular hoursNote

February 14SundayClosedValentine’s Day itself
February 15Monday11 AM to 9 PMA day-after dinner with an easier table

Holiday schedules are confirmed each year rather than published in advance, so before you build the evening around a time, call 817-381-1157 and ask whether Valentine’s weekend hours differ from the regular ones.

Book the weekend early

Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13 will be the two most requested nights of the winter. Reserve through OpenTable or by phone as soon as you know your date, and if you want a window table or a tufted booth, call rather than only clicking, so the request is on the reservation. Window seats are given on request as the room allows, not guaranteed. Saturday opens at 4 PM, and an early Saturday table is often easier to get than a 7:30 one. The reservations page covers how far ahead to book and what to do about same-day tables.

What February looks like from the ninth floor

In February the sun goes down over the district at about 6:05 PM, and the window wall faces it. A 5:30 table watches the light leave the sky behind AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field and then watches the Six Flags tower and the rest of the district come on. By 7 PM the glass is all lights. It is the shortest sunset window of the year to plan around, which is one argument for an early table.

Inside, the room is chandeliers, white linen, leather chairs and the booths along the blue-lit wall. The grand piano by the bar plays on select evenings; if music is part of your plan, ask which nights when you book rather than assuming a Friday or Saturday. The live piano page explains how the music works in the room.

A Valentine's order

There is no separate Valentine’s menu published; the regular dinner menu is what you will order from, and it is built for two. A reasonable evening, course by course:

If the weekend is full

Two options keep the ninth floor in play. The first is the week itself: Monday, February 8 through Thursday, February 11 have the same menu, the same view and far more open tables, and the sunset arrives at the same hour. The second is lunch. Friday, February 12 opens at 11 AM with the lunch menu, which carries the Center-Cut Filet at $54 for 6 oz, the Crab & Shrimp Louie at $24 and the Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon at $24, with the daytime view of the district below the glass. A Valentine’s lunch on the Friday before is a quieter room and an easier drive than any Saturday night in February.

A Valentine's gift that arrives by email

If you are apart on the day, or you want to hand over the dinner rather than plan it, an eGift card is sold online through Toast and can be used toward any evening on the ninth floor, including a quieter one in March. Balances are checked on the same site. Dress for the night is business casual: jeans without rips are fine, jackets are optional, and hats come off at the table.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mercury Chophouse open on Valentine's Day 2027?

No. February 14, 2027 is a Sunday, and Mercury Chophouse – Arlington is closed every Sunday. The Valentine's nights on the ninth floor are Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13. Holiday hours are confirmed each year, so call 817-381-1157 before you finalize a time.

Does Mercury Chophouse offer a special Valentine's Day menu?

No Valentine's menu is published. Plan on the regular dinner menu, which includes the Wagyu and black truffle ravioli, filets from 6 oz, seared sea bass, the Strawberry Cake and a full after-dinner cocktail list. If a holiday menu is added for the weekend, the restaurant can tell you by phone.

How far ahead should I reserve the Saturday before Valentine's Day?

As far ahead as you can. Saturday, February 13, 2027 is dinner only from 4 to 10 PM, and it will be the most requested night of the season. Book in January if possible, ask for a window or booth by phone, and consider a 4:30 or 5 PM table, which catches the 6:05 PM sunset.

Can we celebrate Valentine's Day at lunch instead of dinner?

Yes, on a weekday. Lunch runs Monday through Friday from 11 AM, so Friday, February 12 works, with the 6 oz filet at $54, the Crab and Shrimp Louie at $24 and the daytime view over the district. Saturday, February 13 is dinner only, opening at 4 PM.

Is the Friday before Valentine's Day a good night for a window table?

It is a good night for asking. Friday, February 12 has hours to 10 PM and a sunset near 6:05 PM. Window tables are requested rather than guaranteed, and the request is more likely to be met with an early reservation than a late one.
