Timing a dinner around first pitch
Rangers weeknight games usually start around 7 PM. A starter, an entrée and dessert takes about 90 minutes to two hours at Mercury, and the drive plus ballpark parking on a game night is 30 to 45 minutes.
| First pitch | Reserve for | Order by | Leave by |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7:05 PM weeknight | 4:45 to 5:00 PM | 5:15 PM | 6:15 to 6:30 PM |

| Saturday afternoon game | Restaurant opens at 4 PM; book dinner after the game instead | ||
| Sunday game | Closed |
Mercury closes at 9 PM Monday through Thursday and 10 PM Friday and Saturday, so a full post-game dinner on a weeknight is tight; the dinner after a Rangers game page explains which nights work.
The view of the park
The dining room has a curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that looks south and west over the Entertainment District. Globe Life Field’s roof and AT&T Stadium sit in that view, with the Six Flags tower and Hurricane Harbor closer in along Lamar. Before a night game you can watch the district lots fill from your table. In April the sun sets around 7:55 PM and in June around 8:35 PM, so an early-season game dinner ends in daylight and a summer one ends near sunset.
Window tables cannot be guaranteed, but noting the game and the occasion on your reservation helps the host stand seat you well. If the table is one row back, the curve of the window wall still gives most seats a line to the ballpark, and the grand piano by the windows near the bar plays on select evenings.

Before you book
Reservations are on OpenTable or by phone at 817-381-1157, and game nights fill early, so book the day the Rangers schedule is published if the date matters. The dress code is business casual: unripped jeans and a collared shirt are fine, athletic wear and caps are not, and hats come off at the table. Tables of 6 or more are charged a 20% gratuity. For a group of 8 to 20 before the game, the Boardroom’s large screen can show the pregame broadcast; the dinner before a Rangers game page covers that in detail.

Frequently asked questions
Can you see Globe Life Field from Mercury Chophouse?
Yes. The ninth-floor dining room's curved window wall looks over the Entertainment District, and Globe Life Field, AT&T Stadium, the Six Flags tower and Hurricane Harbor are all in view. Window tables cannot be guaranteed, so mention the game when you reserve and arrive on time.
Is Mercury Chophouse open for Sunday Rangers games?
No. Mercury Chophouse – Arlington does not open on Sundays. For a Sunday game, plan dinner on Friday or Saturday evening. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11 AM and Saturday from 4 PM, closing at 9 PM Monday to Thursday and 10 PM Friday and Saturday.
How long does dinner take before a Rangers game?
Plan on 90 minutes to two hours for a starter, entrée and dessert, less if you tell your server you are on a clock. Add 30 to 45 minutes for the 1-mile drive and ballpark parking on a game night. A 5 PM table works for a 7:05 PM first pitch.
Is there a place near Globe Life Field to eat at the bar?
Mercury's marble-topped bar has a full back bar, TVs and the full dinner menu, and it opens at 11 AM on weekdays and 4 PM on Saturday. Bar seating policy is not published, so call 817-381-1157 to ask about walking in on a game night.
Is Hearsay – Arlington the same owner as Mercury Chophouse?
Yes. Hearsay – Arlington is Jim Ross's seafood restaurant inside Choctaw Stadium, about 0.7 mile from Mercury and next to Globe Life Field. Mercury is the steakhouse with the ninth-floor view; Hearsay is the seafood room with Prohibition-era styling at the ballpark.
