A jacket is optional. A collared shirt, dark jeans and leather shoes is the most common outfit in the room on a Friday night; a sports coat over it is the most common outfit at a client dinner in the Boardroom. A suit is never out of place, and a polo shirt has a collar. What the code rules out is the gym and the couch: nothing with a hood, nothing with a drawstring waist, nothing printed across the chest.

The published wording is deliberately loose on the upper end: a cocktail dress for a proposal at the window is welcome and so is a blouse with jeans for a weeknight dinner after work. Heels are not required; the walk from the tower lot to the elevator is short. On the lower end the code names yoga pants and loungewear as too casual, which covers leggings worn as trousers and anything you would wear to a spin class.
Hats, game days and the gray areas
Cowboy hats and fashionable hats are welcomed at the door, but the code asks that they be removed while seated in the dining rooms. Baseball caps are on the not-permitted list outright, which comes up on Cowboys and Rangers nights; so does athletic wear, which is how most people would read a jersey.
