The hotel beside Texas Live!, the steakhouse above the district

Live! by Loews sits at 1600 E Randol Mill Rd, right beside the Texas Live! complex and a short walk from Globe Life Field. Mercury Chophouse – Arlington is about 0.9 mile north, on the top floor of the Brookhollow Two office tower at 2221 E Lamar Blvd. The drive is about three minutes: Randol Mill to Ballpark Way and Nolan Ryan Expressway, north to E Lamar Blvd, then east to the tower.

Guests who stay at Live! by Loews are usually in town for something at the stadiums. Mercury sits above all of it, with a curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows facing Globe Life Field, AT&T Stadium, the Six Flags Over Texas tower and Hurricane Harbor. A game weekend from the hotel

The restaurant’s hours shape the weekend. Here is how a typical Cowboys or Rangers stay lines up with them.

Because most Cowboys home games are Sundays, the Mercury dinner on a football weekend is Friday or Saturday night. Rangers games are mostly evenings with weeknight first pitches around 7 PM, so a 4:30 or 5 PM reservation covers a game night. The game day dining page lays out the timing in detail.

Parking on the nights you need it

The tower has a free garage and outdoor lot on site, which matters most on the nights the district is busiest. From the lot, take the elevator in the lobby to the ninth floor, Suite 910. On event nights, the tower’s position on Lamar rather than inside the stadium lots keeps the exit simple. What sets the table apart from hotel dining

Mercury is independent, founded by Jim Ross, and the room reflects one owner’s taste rather than a brand standard. White tablecloths and linen napkins, leather chairs, tufted booths, crystal chandeliers, a marble-topped bar with TVs along the back bar, and a grand piano positioned by the windows. Live piano plays on select evenings; guest reviews on the site mention a pianist and singer on the night of their visit, along with the sunset and the warm bread with garlic butter.

The wine wall at the entrance holds a list that runs from a $78 Willamette Pinot Noir to Opus One at $686, and the bar’s whiskey shelf covers about 40 American bottles, a Scotch and Irish list from Ardbeg 10 at $19 to Johnnie Walker Blue at $79, and Japanese whisky including Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve at $35.

Order like a regular

Start with the Land & Sea Sampler at $26 per person, which puts calamari, a filet mignon cigar, a crab cake and the MCA shrimp cocktail on one plate, or the Wedge at $18. The Dry-Aged 36 oz Porterhouse is $175 and feeds two comfortably; the Espresso-Rubbed Elk is $85 for something off the usual path; the Hand-Cut Ribeye is $75. Brussels Sprouts with bacon are $17 to share, and the Cherry & Pecan Bread Pudding is $16 with vanilla ice cream.

A 20% gratuity is added for six or more, and the $25 split plate fee applies to composed entrées. Sauces run $4 each, with a $9 flight of Rye Whiskey Cream, Demi-Glace and Béarnaise, and Oscar Style with lobster adds $20 to any steak. The full menu has every price.

Groups staying at the hotel

For a group traveling together, the Boardroom seats 8 to 20 at one long table with a large screen and a fully integrated AV system; semi-private seating goes to 28. The restaurant built it with watch parties in mind, so a group that cannot get tickets can still see the game from a room that overlooks the stadium. One check is presented, a food and beverage minimum applies to 10 or more, and the event inquiry form gets a response within 48 hours. The dress code is business casual: collared shirts encouraged, jeans without rips welcome, no baseball caps or athletic wear in the dining room, and cowboy hats removed at the table.
