Getting in without any hassle
Mercury is in the Brookhollow Two office tower on E Lamar Blvd, not inside the stadium complex, so there is no event-lot walk. Pull into the tower’s garage or its outdoor lot at the entrance; both are free. From the lobby, an elevator goes straight up to Suite 910 on the ninth floor. No stairs are involved. The lot is the office tower’s own, so on a weeknight the walk from the car to the lobby door is short.

What to tell them to wear
Business casual, and you can say it in one sentence: a collared shirt and slacks or nice jeans for Dad, a dress or stylish separates for Mom. Jackets and ties are not required, though a sport coat is welcome. Jeans are fine as long as they are not ripped. The things to leave at home are baseball caps, athletic wear, hoodies and flip-flops. Prime rib is a seasonal Friday and Saturday feature rather than a year-round item; the prime rib page explains the schedule, and it is worth a call before promising it to your father. Timing the evening
Parents tend to prefer an early dinner, and early is also when the room is calmest. Monday through Thursday, a 5:30 PM table is among the quietest of the week and catches the sunset, which falls about 5:25 PM in December and about 8:15 PM in May. The restaurant closes at 9 PM Monday through Thursday, so an early table leaves the whole evening unhurried. On Friday and Saturday, book the first seating. If you are treating, tell the server at the start and the check comes to you; parents will try to grab it otherwise. Parties of 6 or more, which is the whole family once grandchildren are counted, carry a 20% gratuity.
